RIU is a brand that holds a special place in my heart. The project launched in 2021 after spending a year cleaning out my dad’s old production studio, sifting through fabrics, accessories, and screens covered in layers of dust. The studio had been dormant for a decade, and there was an abundance of unused stock left from orders that had been abruptly canceled towards the end of the studio’s lifespan. These pieces were still incredibly special and deserved a chance to shine. With a lot of support I dedicated months to restoring and reworking the tops, ensuring they were in good condition once again.

With RIU, I set out to give these forgotten treasures a second chance. It was a labor of love, carefully reworking each top and breathing new life into it. The brand represents not just a fashion statement, but also a commitment to honoring the value of what already exists. I am proud to share these restored pieces with the world, ensuring that their unique beauty finds its place once more.

Looking ahead, RIU's next chapter involves the gradual creation of small collections using the remaining fabric, sequins, beads, and batik stamps. We are slowly designing these collections, carefully crafting unique pieces from these precious materials. Stay tuned for what's to come! :~)
